Alias Zone

Neither prolific nor influential all things considered, I add the Alias Zone page to the Artists Directory because they produced one amazing album and as an homage to so many other great artists who are the "one-hit" wonders of the world fusion world. So here's to the hundreds of other great world fusion artists, even those who only ever released one song, who don't get the attention they deserve!

Alias Zone founder Chris Meyer is a musician though his "day job" is as a graphic effects designer for TV and film studios and networks. Lucid Dreams, the amazing debut CD of the project was built upon recordings of improvised performances by his previous band, Cosmic Debris. As such, the sound is very alive and fresh even as it has an other-worldly quality. The quality of the CD is all the more amazing given that it is, in part, a side project. Work began in fall of 2004 on a new album but sadly seems to be on near-permanent hold.
